The key to managing the daily stress and anxieties of modern life is not so much learning exotic new practices as it is understanding and directing the most fundamental functions of your own body’s neurobiology.  This online webinar is designed to introduce participants to simple, straight-forward techniques for calming situational anxiety that are easy to remember and can be implemented at any place, any time to help calm the body and focus the mind when stress threatens to overwhelm. The techniques taught in this session require no special skills, no equipment, and no unique settings for successfully utilizing the body’s own physiology to manage stress. The efficacy of these somatic awareness practices is confirmed and recommended in the most current medical research on managing anxiety and stress.

Our webinar’s primary purpose is to teach three fundamental exercises for self-regulation: a breathing practice, stress release through movement, and a meditative practice. After giving a brief informative summary from current research on anxiety and stress management, the majority of our hour of instruction is live demonstration and opportunity for participants to practice with the instructors. Time is reserved at the end of the class for Q and A and an opportunity for participants to provide live feedback regarding their experience.

While the specific techniques we offer are derived from traditional yoga, no experience with yoga practice is required. Practices taught in this webinar are safe, gentle, and complementary to any other kinds of practice and treatments for managing anxiety and stress. This training is not intended to offer medical advice, address clinical anxiety disorders, or replace any current stress management practices.
